After working for the Public Defender’s office in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. McNulty was associated with the firm of Lawler, Felix and Hall (later Arter & Hadden) in Los Angeles. In coordination with Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro (now Pillsbury Winthrop), he defended clients such as Chevron, Pacific Telephone & Telegraph, Amtrak and Miles Laboratories in complicated personal injury and commercial litigation matters both in California and nationally.
Since 1983, Mr. McNulty has practiced with his own firm. His primary office is in Los Angeles, California and he maintains affiliate offices in Hong Kong and Singapore. His firm specializes in the preparation and trial of catastrophic personal injury actions and complicated commercial actions with a special emphasis in Class Action and Mass Tort cases. His firm has also represented numerous Asian corporations (China Tire, Asia Pulp and Paper, Sinar Mas Group, Ltd. and eSun Holdings, Ltd.) and high net worth individuals in complex business litigation in the United States, London, Hong Kong and Macau. He currently represents Hong Leong Oei/Hong Kong Expo Holdings, LTD./Canadian Metropolitan Properties Corporation in a $1.5 billion Canadian Dollar dispute in Vancouver arising out of a development project on the Vancouver waterfront (Concord Pacific Acquisitions, Inc. v. Hong Leong Oei, et al. Vancouver Registry No. S-158989). His firm has also represented Nevada Energy Company in energy related litigation against El Paso, Dynergy and Sempra. His individual verdicts and settlements, not including class actions, total in excess of $600 Million Dollars. He has tried over 131 cases to verdict and has been involved in multiple nationwide class actions involving medical devices and pharmaceutical products such as Lupron, Accutane, Sulzer Hips, Intra-Ocular Lenses and AMO. He is a licensed pilot and has represented multiple air crash disaster victims in the U.S. and internationally. He is also currently serving on the plaintiffs Executive Committee in the Woolsey Fire litigation (JCCP 5000) and represents over 500 fire victims.
